Supervises production operations and field operators on all wells in assigned areas in a safe and cost-effective manner.


  • Manages team to achieve production goals and optimization while monitoring and reducing LOE.
  • Supervise roustabout crews, pumpers, wireline units, hot oil trucks, workover rigs and swabbing units.
  • Supervise all crew activity to ensure all employees and contractors are working together safely and efficiently.
  • Determines and implements methods to find more cost effective ways to conduct production operations.
  • Responsible for helping team members minimize downtime and maximize run time.
  • Responsible for new well production completions.
  • Oversees down hole fishing, packer removal, tubing change outs and repairs.
  • Provides backup for Superintendent when Superintendent is unavailable.
  • Coordinates monthly Safety and Operations training meetings.
  • Assists Superintendent in completing annual performance reviews of team
  • members.
  • Approves and processes production paperwork, vendor forms and invoices.
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communicates with vendors and other company contacts.
  • Produces reports as needed.

Education, Skills and Experience Required

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Requires valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong supervisory skills and demonstrated team player with good attitude and work ethic, flexible and good interpersonal skills.
  • Basic to intermediate math and computer skills (Microsoft Office programs).
  • Mechanical skills - ability to handle maintenance and minor repairs of compressors, separators, dehydrators, water injection pumps, pump jacks, bottom hole pumps communication/control panels, and plunger lift systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to react to potentially dangerous situations quickly and appropriately.
  • Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, visual acuity, hearing, speaking.
  • Must be able to climb 15 foot high ladders and stairwells.
  • Must be able to change a flat tire or chain up tires in adverse weather conditions.

Environmental Conditions

  • Works outdoors approximately 90% of the time.
  • Works indoors in office approximately 10% of the time.
  • May be exposed to and must be able to drive in adverse weather conditions
  • (snow, rain, ice, wind, heat, flooding, etc.).
  • May be exposed to constant noise, H2S fumes (less than 10 ppm), and high
  • pressure natural gas
